Caramel corn
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- light corn syrup - 1/3 c
- butter flavor Crisco - 1/4 c
- popped popcorn 8 c - 2 qt
- unsalted peanuts or pecans - 1 c
How to make caramel corn:
Preheat oven to 300°. Generously grease a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan. Blend sugar, corn syrup, butter flavor Crisco and vanilla. Cook over medium heat 2 minutes or until light and foamy, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add popcorn, tossing to coat. Spread in greased pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Turn and toss. Return to oven an additional 7 minutes. Cool in pan. Break into bite size pieces.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, American.
