  • brown sugar - 1 item
  • cloves garlic - 3 item
  • bay leaves - 2 item
  • beef bouillon cubes - 2 item
  • lean stewing beef in cubes - 1 lb
  • chopped diced shallots - 4 item

How to make belgian stew:

Brown and drain the beef cubes. Add brown sugar and caramelize into meat. Add 2 cups water, beef cubes, bay leaves, garlic (crushed) and shallots. Simmer for 2 hours, stirring frequently and never allowing to loose level of liquid. Thicken to desired consistency with cornstarch. Serve with boiled potatoes and carrots.
