Ingredients/Components

  • sour cream - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • fat - 3 Tbsp
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • can mushrooms with broth - 13 oz
  • beef round or sirloin, cut in thin, narrow 2-inch slices - 2 lb

How to make beef stroganoff:

Brown meat in fat. Add onions, garlic and celery. Cook until golden. Stir in flour; add remaining ingredients and mix well. Turn into a 3-quart greased casserole. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Cover casserole for first hour. Serve on noodles or mashed potatoes. Serves 6.
