Shrimp jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 4 Tbsp
- salt
- diced green pepper - 2 c
- chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- hot pepper sauce - 1/4 tsp
- sliced celery - 1 c
- cooked ham, cubed - 1 lb
- or 2 cloves garlic, minced - 1 item
- medium onions, sliced thin - 2 item
- hot, cooked rice - 3 c
- peeled, deveined shrimp - 2 lb
- each cans whole tomatoes - 2 lb
How to make shrimp jambalaya:
Cook celery, green peppers and onions in half the butter, until tender. Add garlic and ham; cook 5 minutes longer. Add remaining butter, shrimp, salt, hot pepper sauce, chili powder and sugar. Cook, tossing often until shrimp are pink. Add tomatoes and heat. Serve over rice. Makes 8 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Shrimp.
