Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 1/2
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • oil - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped celery - 2 c
  • soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped onions - 1 c
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • can Chinese noodles - 1 item
  • can mushroom soup - 1 item

How to make shanghai casserole:

Brown ground beef in oil; add chopped onion and cook until tender. Pour off drippings. Cook vegetables in water for 5 minutes and drain. Combine vegetables, soup, salt, pepper, soy sauce and celery. Stir into meat. Place in 2 1/2-quart casserole. Cover and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Remove cover and sprinkle with Chinese noodles. Bake 5 minutes longer. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
