Ingredients/Components

  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • water
  • chopped celery - 2 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • low-fat milk - 2 c
  • green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • corn - 2 c
  • medium onion, sliced thin - 1 item
  • margarine or olive oil - 4 Tbsp
  • canned tomatoes, drained 15 oz - 1 c

How to make vegetable chowder:

In a large soup pot, cook vegetables and water, covered, about 30 minutes until tender. In medium saucepan, melt margarine/oil and blend in the flour. Gradually add the milk and cook until thickened, stirring frequently. Add this to the soup pot. Stir well.
