Harvest chowder



  • milk - 3 c
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • sliced carrots - 1 c
  • diced potatoes
  • chicken bouillon - 2 Tbsp
  • shredded Velveeta cheese - 3 c
  • slices bacon, cooked and cut into small pieces - 6 item
  • small cans corn, drained optional - 2 item

How to make harvest chowder:

Simmer onion, carrots, potatoes and water together for about 15 minutes. Add bouillon, corn (if desired) and cooked bacon. Simmer for about 10 minutes more. Melt butter in another large saucepan and add flour. Cook for about 1 minute, then add milk and cheese. Cook until smooth and thick, then combine with vegetables. Simmer over low heat until ready to serve. This can also be put in a crock-pot and simmered on low for several hours after cooking.
