Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • salt - 3 Tbsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1/4 lb
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • sprigs parsley - 14 item
  • chopped tomatoes - 3 gal
  • medium onions - 8 item
  • bay leaves - 12 item
  • whole cloves - 20 item
  • stems celery - 14 item

How to make tomato soup:

Cook all the vegetables, cloves and bay leaves together until soft. Put through strainer. Mix flour, sugar, salt and 2 cups water. Add to heated tomato mixture. Add butter. Stir until boiling. Put in jars leaving about 1/4 inch headspace. I put in pressure cooker 30 minutes at 10 pounds.
