Sweet cucumber pickles



Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 qt
- water - 1 gal
- vinegar - 2 qt
- alum - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric - 2 3
- mustard seeds - 4 Tbsp
- sliced cucumbers - 2 gal
- boiling water with 2 c - 1 gal
- or 6 cinnamon sticks - 5 item
How to make sweet cucumber pickles:
Pour water and alum over cukes. Let stand 24 hours. Drain. Wash well. Bring remaining ingredients to boil, stirring. Pour over pickles. Reheat syrup every day for 3 days. Ready to eat. Seal in sterilized jars; seal lids.I wrap turmeric and mustard seeds in a cloth and discard when I seal pickles.
