Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 c
- cider vinegar - 3 c
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- celery seed - 1/3 Tbsp
- chopped green peppers - 1 c
- mustard seed - 1/4 c
- chopped green tomatoes - 2 qt
- chopped red peppers - 1 c
How to make piccalilli:
Drain vegetables of any extra liquid. In a large kettle, add vegetables and 1/2 of vinegar. Boil for 1/2 hour, stirring often. Drain and discard liquid, add remaining vinegar, sugar and spices. Simmer for 3 minutes. Pour into hot jars and seal.Recipe categories: Low protein, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
