Squash casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- cheese, grated - 1/2 c
- squash - 1 lb
- finely chopped bell pepper - 1/4 c
- cheese cracker crumbs - 1 item
- pecans, chopped or water chestnuts, sliced - 1/2 c
How to make squash casserole:
Cook squash, drain and mash. Add all ingredients except margarine and cracker crumbs. Place the ingredients in a buttered 2-quart casserole. Top with crumbs and dot with margarine. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. (Suitable for freezing.)Recipe categories: Squash, Side dish, Casseroles.
