Ingredients/Components

  • ground beef
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • can tomato bits - 1 lb
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • dried parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
  • dry red wine - 1/3 c
  • garlic cloves, pressed - 2 item
  • dried oregano - 2 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • dried thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • cayenne pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • salt to taste - 1 item

How to make spaghetti sauce:

Brown beef and onions in a large skillet. Drain fat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes or until slightly thickened. Makes about 4 1/2 cups.
