Turkey chili
Ingredients/Components
- ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1 2
- dry red wine - 1/4 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- dried parsley flakes - 1 tsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- dried oregano - 3/4 tsp
- dried basil - 3/4 tsp
- red pepper - 1/4 1/2
- cans red kidney beans, drained - 2 1/2
- ground raw turkey - 2 lb
- cans tomatoes, cut up - 2 oz
- glove minced garlic - 1 item
How to make turkey chili:
In a 4 quart Dutch oven cook the turkey until no longer pink. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, drained kidney beans, tomato sauce, onion, wine, chili powder, parsley flakes, basil, oregano, black pepper, cinnamon, garlic, red pepper and bay leaf. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Garnish with green or yellow sweet peppers, cut into rings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Chili, Turkey.
