Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- diced celery - 1/2 c
- medium onions, sliced - 2 item
- strips bacon - 3 item
- tomatoes - 1 c
- cooked green peas - 1 c
- green pepper, cut in rings - 1 item
- hot boiled rice - 3 c
- cans cleaned and deveined shrimp - 2 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook bacon until crisp. Remove from skillet and break into 1/4-inch pieces. Saute onions in bacon fat until tender. Add green pepper, celery, tomatoes and salt. Cook until vegetables are tender and sauce thickens, about 15 minutes. Add peas, shrimp and chili powder and cook 5 minutes longer. Add the cooked bacon. Pack rice into a greased 9-inch tube pan. Carefully turn rice out on a serving platter. Pour sauce in center and around the ring. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
