Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1/4 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- bacon drippings - 1 Tbsp
- gumbo file - 1/2 tsp
- raw cleaned shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp creole:
Saute onion, celery, garlic, bell pepper and parsley in bacon drippings until soft. Add tomato paste, tomatoes and 1 cup water. Add all other ingredients except shrimp and gumbo file. Cook slowly, about 1 hour. Add raw shrimp; cook 15 minutes. Add gumbo file. Serve over rice.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
