Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3 c
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • large onions, chopped - 2 item
  • cans cream of mushroom soup - 2 oz
  • mild Cheddar cheese - 6 oz
  • shrimp, cleaned - 1 lb
  • potatoes, peeled and chopped - 6 c

How to make shrimp chowder:

Cook onions in margarine in a large saucepan until onions are tender, but not brown. Add potatoes and water. Cook, covered, over medium heat until potatoes are tender. Add soup and cheese, stirring until cheese melts. Add shrimp and cook 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Do not boil. Makes 8 servings.
