New england clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- heavy cream - 3 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- diced onion - 1 c
- parsley - 1 tsp
- diced celery - 1 c
- diced carrots - 1 c
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- diced potatoes - 3 c
- bacon, diced - 1/4 lb
- chopped clams - 3 c
- clam broth or fish stock - 4 c
How to make new england clam chowder:
In a large pot, fry bacon until crisp. Drain the grease. Add butter and vegetables. Saute until tender. Stir in flour. Cook 2 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.
