Scallops au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- Parmesan cheese - 2 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- can mushrooms - 3 oz
- scallops - 1 lb
- crushed potato chips
- reserved liquid - 1 c
- chopped American cheese - 1/2 c
- fine parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
How to make scallops au gratin:
Parboil scallops 2 minutes; drain, reserving 1 cup of liquid. Put scallops in a greased 2-quart casserole. In pot, melt butter and cook onion until tender. Add flour, then pepper, milk and liquid. Stir until thickens; add mushrooms, Parmesan cheese and parsley flakes. Cover scallops with creamed mixture; top with American cheese, then chips. Cook, covered, for 20 minutes at 350°.
