Cream of broccoli soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- dash of garlic powder - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 c
- cans chicken broth - 2 item
- bay leaf - 1 item
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- can water - 1 item
- ground thyme - 1 tsp
- cut broccoli - 4 c
How to make cream of broccoli soup:
In saucepan, combine chicken broth, chopped onion, broccoli and spices. Bring to boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Remove bay leaf and set aside.In saucepan, melt butter. Blend in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Add milk, all at once. Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in vegetable mixture. Cook and stir on low until soup is heated through.
