Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- sage - 1/2 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
- dry bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- crab meat - 1 lb
- dash of ground red pepper - 1 item
How to make deviled crab:
Put 3 tablespoons butter in pan and lightly saute onions. (Before, rinse crab meat in cold water and remove ligaments if any.) Stir flour in butter mixture; add milk gradually and cook mixture until it thickens. Add slightly beaten egg yolk and crab meat, then season with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, sage, pepper and red pepper. Cook 3 minutes, then stir in parsley and lemon juice. Fill crab shells with the mixture, then sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs. Bake in an oven at 350° for 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Crab.
