Sausage and cabbage soup
Ingredients/Components
- water - 6 c
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 2 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1/2 c
- sliced carrots - 1/2 c
- sliced celery - 1/2 c
- small head cabbage - 1 item
- dash of black pepper - 1 item
- beef bouillon granules - 3 tsp
- can whole tomatoes, undrained and cut up - 1 1/2
- smoked sausage, cut into slices - 1 pkg
How to make sausage and cabbage soup:
Cook onion, carrots, celery and garlic in oil in Dutch oven over medium heat 5 minutes. Add cabbage, water and bouillon granules. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Add sausage, tomatoes with juice and pepper to mixture. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir in lemon juice.
