Ingredients/Components

  • margarine - 4 Tbsp
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • chopped ham
  • flour - 4 lb
  • broth - 1/2 c
  • sauerkraut, drained and chopped - 3 c
  • chopped parsley - 1 lb
  • egg - 1 item
  • milk - 1 pt
  • soft bread crumbs - 1 item

How to make sauerkraut balls:

Breading:2 1/2 c. flour1 egg1 pt. milk soft bread crumbs Melt margarine and brown onion. Add ham, flour, broth, sauerkraut and parsley. Cook a few more minutes. Cool and make 1-inch balls. Mix egg and milk. Dip in balls, then flour and bread crumbs. Fry in deep fat.
