Swedish meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- water
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- margarine - 4 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 3 Tbsp
- soft bread crumbs
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can consomme or 2 bouillon cubes and water - 1 1/2
How to make swedish meatballs:
Soften crumbs in milk; saute onions in 1/2 butter. Add to crumbs. Add beef, seasonings and egg. Form into 1-inch balls. Saute in remaining butter for 10 minutes. Add consomme, simmer covered for 5 minutes. Remove meat to serving dish. Blend flour and water and thicken liquid. Pour over meat and serve.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Ground beef, Beef.
