Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 to
- water - 1/2 c
- cooking oil - 1/4 c
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- chili powder - 2 Tbsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- chopped green onion - 3/4 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
- seasoned bread crumbs - 5 c
- oil for frying - 1 item
- whole eggs, beaten - 3 item
- lean ground meat
- salted water - 7 c
- short grain rice - 3 c
How to make rice balls:
Add rice to salted water. Bring to boil. Simmer until rice is mushy. Remove from heat, add oleo and cinnamon. Cool. Fry meat in 1/4 cup oil until loses redness. Add onions, celery and garlic. Cook slowly for 10 minutes. Add chili powder, tomato sauce and water. Simmer 1 hour; stir occasionally. Remove from heat, add parsley, cheese, salt and pepper. Set aside to cool. Roll into firm balls, using 1 tablespoon meat mixture. Chill and dip into beaten egg. Roll in seasoned bread crumbs. Fry in hot deep oil until golden brown.
