Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 2 c
- ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground allspice - 1/4 tsp
- Cinnamon - 1 item
- raw rhubarb, cut into 1/4 inch pieces - 3 c
- Stir in mixed dry ingredients
- Walnuts, optional - 1 item
How to make rhubarb cake:
Cream together sugar and butter; add eggs and milk. Stir in mixed dry ingredients. Mix well. Fold in rhubarb. Batter will be thick. Spread into a well greased 9 x 13 inch pan.Topping: Sugar Cinnamon Walnuts, optional Sprinkle top of batter with a mixture of a little sugar and cinnamon. A few chopped walnuts can be added also. Bake at 350° degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into middle comes out clean.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
