Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 C
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 C
  • brown sugar, packed - 1 C
  • white sugar - 1 C
  • baking soda in 1 C - 1 tsp
  • rhubarb, cut very fine - 2 C

How to make rhubarb cake:

Cream sugars and shortening; add egg and beat. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternately with sour milk. Add rhubarb.

Place in a 9 x 13-inch pan and top with: 1/2 C. brown sugar, 1/2 C. nuts and 1 tsp. cinnamon; mix well and sprinkle on top of cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
