Swiss carrot cake
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon
- vanilla
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 to
- nutmeg - 3/4 tsp
- margarine or butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- hot water - 1/2 c
- sifted whole wheat flour
- egg yolks, beaten - 4 item
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 2/3 c
- grated raw carrots - 2 c
How to make swiss carrot cake:
Combine margarine and sugar. Add vanilla and egg yolks. Stir in carrots and nuts. Sift dry ingredients twice and add alternately with water to creamed carrot mixture. Spread in a greased waxed paper lined 12 x 9 inch pan. Bake in preheated 350° to 375° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Cool and ice.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Carrots.
