Ingredients/Components
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- salt
- warm water - 2 c
- sifted flour - 8 c
How to make refrigerator rolls:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add beaten egg, salt, water and yeast mixture. Add flour; mix well. Put in large greased bowl; grease top of dough and cover. Place in refrigerator. When ready to use, take out as much dough as is needed and shape in rolls. Put in greased pan; let rise 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Bake in hot oven at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
