Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- dry mustard - 2 tsp
- grated sharp cheese - 1/2 c
- milk or water - 3/4 c
- Bix-Mix - 3 c
How to make quick cheese bread:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Empty Bix-Mix into a large bowl. Stir in milk or water and eggs; beat with wooden spoon until smooth. Add mustard and 1 cup of cheese; mix thoroughly. Turn batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese; dot with butter. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on rack before slicing. Especially good sliced, buttered and toasted.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Cheese.
