Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 2
- butter - 1/2 lb
- water - 2 gal
- pepper - 1 tsp
- medium onion - 1 item
- chives - 1 tsp
- large carrots - 4 item
- to 6 large potatoes - 5 item
- to 4 celery sticks - 3 item
How to make potato soup:
In large pot, melt butter. Add onion, chopped fine. Cook until tender over low heat. Add 1 gallon water; bring to boil. Add celery and carrots, chopped very fine. Cut potatoes very fine and add them. Add chives, salt and pepper. Add balance of water and milk. Reduce to low heat. Cook for 2 to 3 hours or more, until cooked down and thick.Recipe categories: Potato, Vegetables, Soups & stews.
