Mashed potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1 tsp
- potatoes - 4 lb
- heavy cream, gently warmed - 1/4 c
How to make mashed potatoes:
Peel potatoes and cut into small pieces. Fill a large mixing bowl with cold water. Place potatoes in water until ready to cook. Set aside.In a large saucepan bring water and salt to a boil. Add potatoes and cover. Simmer until potatoes can be pierced easily with a fork, about 30 minutes.
Drain potatoes and add butter and beat at a medium-high speed until potatoes are smooth, about 2 minutes. Add warmed cream, season with salt and pepper and beat until fluffy, about 1 minute. Serves 10 to 14.
