Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- butter - 1/3 c
- water - 2 3
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- cream - 1 c
- pepper - 1 tsp
- frozen peas - 10 oz
- carrots - 4 item
- marjoram - 1/4 tsp
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- rosemary - 1/4 tsp
- large onion - 1 item
- cut-up chicken breasts - 2 item
- Simmer 45 minutes
How to make chicken and biscuits:
Put chicken into pot with onion, carrots, water and seasonings; bring to a boil. Simmer 45 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 1/2 cups broth.Melt butter; add flour gradually. Add broth, cream and peas. Put in bottom of 13 x 9-inch casserole dish. Put biscuits on top and bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.Biscuits:2 c. flour4 tsp. baking powder1 tsp. salt1/3 c. shortening3/4 c. milk Sift together dry ingredients; cut in shortening. Add milk. Knead slightly. Roll out 1/2-inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter.
