  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • tomato juice
  • grated onion - 2 tsp
  • instant rice uncooked - 1 c

How to make porcupine balls:

Combine first five ingredients with half of the juice. Mix lightly and make 1 1/2 inch (about 18) balls. Place balls in skillet. Combine remaining juice and sugar; pour over balls. Bring all to boil, reduce and simmer, covered, 15 minutes, basting occasionally.
