Porcupine balls
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/3 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- hamburger - 1 lb
- celery salt - 1/2 tsp
- uncooked regular rice - 1/2 c
How to make porcupine balls:
Mix hamburger, rice, 1/2 cup water, the onion, salt, celery salt, garlic powder and pepper. Shape mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls into 12 balls. Cook meatballs in 10-inch skillet until brown on all sides; drain. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over meatballs. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. (Add water during cooking, if necessary.)Oven Porcupines: Place meatballs in square baking dish, 8 x 8 x 2-inches. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over meatballs. Cover and cook in 350° oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and cook 15 minutes longer.
