Poor man's cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 4 c
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- cocoa - 6 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- raisins or nuts optional - 1 item
How to make poor man's cake:
Beat together sugar and buttermilk, flour, soda and cocoa. Beat well; add vanilla. Stir in raisins or nuts, if used. Pour into 13 x 9-inch sheet pan. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until cake tests done when tested with toothpick.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low protein.
