Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/4 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts or pecans
- eggs if desired - 2 item
- box cooked raisins, drain save liquid - 1 item
- Bake in a tube pan in 350° oven, 1 hour or until done
How to make poor man's cake:
Add liquid from raisins to all the ingredients. Bake in a tube pan in 350° oven, 1 hour or until done. Serve hot or cold.Glaze:1 c. sugar1/4 c. buttermilk1 tsp. vanilla1/4 tsp. soda Boil about 4 or 5 minutes. Pour over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low protein.
