Pizza roll-ups
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped fresh parsley - 1 Tbsp
- Italian seasoning - 1 tsp
- grated part-skim Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
- loaf frozen French, pizza, Italian or all-purpose bread dough - 1 item
- lean ground beef or turkey 2 1/2 c - 1 lb
- tomato sauce Italian - 4 c
How to make pizza roll-ups:
Thaw dough. Roll into 14 x 24-inch rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick. Brown ground beef or turkey. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spoon filling evenly onto dough, slightly pressing filling into dough. Roll dough lengthwise like a jelly roll and cut into 24 (1-inch) slices.Treat 2 rimmed cookie sheets with nonstick spray. Lay slices on sheets about an inch apart. Preheat oven to 400°. Let roll-ups sit 10 minutes. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Can be frozen for later use or served right away with warmed Italian tomato sauce. Makes 24 servings.
