Parmesan creamed spinach
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 2 oz
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- margarine or butter - 2 Tbsp
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
How to make parmesan creamed spinach:
Saute onion in oil until tender, add spinach and cook until thoroughly heated. Melt 2 tablespoons margarine in saucepan. Add flour, cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Stir in milk gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add Parmesan cheese and spinach mixture, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Can be served immediately, or placed in greased casserole and reheated later. Do not overcook spinach.Recipe categories: Side dish, Spinach, Greens.
