Parmesan asparagus
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 Tbsp
- freshly grated Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
- medium thick asparagus - 1 lb
How to make parmesan asparagus:
Break off tough white ends of asparagus. Soak in sink with hot water for 5 minutes, then soak 10 minutes in cold water. Drain. With sharp knife, slice spears diagonally into very thin ovals; slice buds in half, lengthwise. Put butter, salt, water and asparagus in an 8-inch skillet with cover. Bring to simmer; cover tightly. Simmer until tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Watch carefully that it will not scorch. Take off heat; sprinkle with cheese. Makes 2 large servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Asparagus.
