Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
  • can chow mein noodles - 1 oz
  • ground ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • whole chicken breasts - 2 item
  • small onion, sliced thin - 1 item
  • sliced celery - 1 c
  • can bean sprouts - 1 oz
  • can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
  • medium green pepper, cut in strips - 1 item

How to make oriental chicken:

Cut chicken into thin strips. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add chicken and cook over moderate heat until meat turns white (approximately 5 minutes). Add pepper, onion, celery, chestnuts, water, salt and ginger. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Blend cornstarch and soy sauce together. Stir into chicken. Add bean sprouts and cook about 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir often. Serves 4.
