Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 1
- self-rising flour
- margarine - 1/4 c
- Crisco shortening - 1/3 c
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- shredded Swiss cheese - 1 c
- to 8 onions, sliced - 5 item
How to make onion bread:
Saute the onions in the margarine and set aside. Stir flour and Parmesan cheese together well. Cut in the shortening as you would with biscuits. Add milk, using the amount needed. Spread into greased 10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch pan. This can be refrigerated for up to a day at this point. When ready to bake, sprinkle Swiss cheese and onions (with margarine) over dough.
