  • packed brown sugar
  • milk
  • salt
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • chopped onion
  • ketchup
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • lean ground beef - 1 lb
  • rubbed sage
  • finely crushed saltines

How to make mom's meat loaf:

In a large bowl, beat eggs; add milk, saltines, onion, salt, sage and pepper. Add beef and mix well. Shape into an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf in an ungreased shallow baking pan. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients; spread over meat loaf. Bake 15 minutes more or until no pink remains. Drain. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
