Ingredients/Components
- salt
- water
- pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
- chopped onion
- chopped celery
- chili powder
- hamburger
- raw rice
- kidney beans
- raw potatoes
- can tomatoes* - 1 item
How to make shipwreck stew:
*Can add tomato soup instead of tomatoes.Brown hamburger. Stir occasionally so it's in small pieces. Drain off grease and pour burger into a 4-quart kettle. Peel and cube potatoes and add to kettle. Brown onions and add to kettle. Add tomatoes or 1 can tomato soup, kidney beans, rice, seasonings, celery and water. Bake at 350° in oven 1 hour.
May add more water or beef broth. Can be baked longer, if desired.
