Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 6 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- miniature marshmallows - 1/2 1
- walnuts - 1/2 c
- chocolate - 2 sq
- sour cream or buttermilk - 1/2 c
How to make mom's chocolate cake:
Frosting:2 c. sugar2 sq. chocolate2/3 c. milk1/2 to 1 c. miniature marshmallows1/2 c. walnuts Cream sugar and butter. Add beaten eggs. Mix soda and sour cream. Sift flour with salt, and sift 3 more times with cocoa. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Stir in boiling water and vanilla. Bake in a 13 x 9-inch pan at 350° for 35 minutes or until done. Cool.Prepare frosting by bringing sugar, chocolate and milk to soft ball stage. Take off stove and beat until thick. Add marshmallows and walnuts. Spread on cake.
