Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- sugar - 2 c
- soda - 1 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- powdered sugar
- chopped pecans - 1 c
How to make chocolate chocolate cake:
Icing:6 Tbsp. milk1/2 c. butter1/4 c. cocoa3 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped pecans In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, shortening, cocoa and water and slowly bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set aside. Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and cinnamon together into a large bowl. Add the chocolate mixture to the flour mixture and mix until well blended. Stir in beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake for 35 minutes at 350°.Icing: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, butter and cocoa and slowly bring to a boil. Remove from heat and sift in powdered sugar, mixing until smooth. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Ice cake while still warm, in the pan.
