Mexican corn bread
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- melted shortening - 2/3 c
- Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- corn meal - 1 c
- cream-style corn - 1 c
- can chiles, whole or diced - 1 oz
How to make mexican corn bread:
Mix together all ingredients, except chiles and cheese. Pour half of batter into 9-inch square greased pan. Spread chiles and cheese on evenly. Then pour remaining batter on top.Place in 350° oven and bake for 1 hour. Cut corn bread into 12 squares while hot and top is crisp.
