- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- plain flour
- juice of 2 lemons
- sticks butter or margarine - 3 item
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well
- lemon juice and rind of lemon - 1 c
How to make lemon buttermilk pound cake:
Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Sift all dry ingredients. Add buttermilk and dry ingredients alternately, beating well. Place juice and rind and beat well. Place in greased tube pan and bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.Icing:1/2 c. sugar juice of 2 lemons Mix well and pour over hot cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 4 hours.
