  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • plain flour
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • sticks butter or margarine - 3 item
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well
  • lemon juice and rind of lemon - 1 c

How to make lemon buttermilk pound cake:

Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Sift all dry ingredients. Add buttermilk and dry ingredients alternately, beating well. Place juice and rind and beat well. Place in greased tube pan and bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.Icing:1/2 c. sugar juice of 2 lemons Mix well and pour over hot cake.
