German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- bacon, cubed and fried - 1/2 lb
- boiled, thinly sliced, small, red potatoes - 4 lb
- small onions, finely diced - 3 item
How to make german potato salad:
Slightly brown bacon, drain and put grease back into pan. Combine flour, sugar, vinegar and water into bacon drippings (use large skillet). Add onions, salt and pepper; simmer until onions are tender.Use warm serving dish or roaster. Layer potatoes, bacon and hot juice until all is used. Put in a 300° oven for 25 minutes. Stir occasionally while baking. Serve hot.
