Fish chowder
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1 item
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- diced potatoes - 2 c
- slices bacon - 6 item
- water may need more - 1 c
- cut up fish - 1 lb
- bay leaf, crumbled to taste - 1 item
- whole milk can increase - 2 c
How to make fish chowder:
Fry the bacon until crisp; crumble. Brown the onion and celery in the bacon grease until tender. Put everything together except for the milk. Cover and cook until the potatoes are tender (15 to 20 minutes). Add milk; heat and serve.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Cod.
