Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • small onion, diced - 1 item
  • half & half - 3 c
  • salt & pepper to taste - 1 item
  • salt pork, diced - 1/2 c
  • pollock - 1 lb
  • med potatoes, peeled & diced - 4 item
  • fish bouillon cubes - 3 item

How to make fish chowder:

Saut?© onion and salt pork in margarine until onions are translucent; add potatoes, pollock, water, bouillon cubes, salt and pepper to onion mixture and simmer until potatoes are tender; stir in half & half; heat thoroughly.

Note: A sprinkle of paprika on the top makes this attractive when serving. You may substitute haddock or your favorite catch of the day if you prefer.
